King’s Gift Fund Board of Directors

Ellen Heckert

Ellen Heckert
President/Secretary

Mrs. Heckert has been involved in horses and education for more than 40 years. Originally a Pony Club member and event rider, Mrs. Heckert switched to dressage and earned her USDF Bronze Medal before a horse injury and personal illness ended her pursuit of a Silver Medal.

At the same time, Mrs. Heckert earned her Master’s Degree in Psychology, taught 8th grade English, and started a family. While raising her son and daughter, Mrs. Heckert ran Mahogany Acres Stables and was employed as an associate professor and facility coordinator at Wilson College in Chambersburg, PA.

Later, Mrs. Heckert went on to create King’s View Acres, a dressage lesson program for children. King’s View Acres led to the creation of King’s Gift Fund and continues to serve as the proof of concept for our programming.

Mrs. Heckert is currently training her Friesian cross gelding, Samson, and operating King’s View Acres as a boarding facility. She is also developing and teaching internships for King’s Gift Fund.
